In this restless vacation...
Four had arrived in 1977, just as he asked, and now it had been a few months since. He had been staying with Sarah Jane, who graciously offered her a place to stay until he was able to grow his own TARDIS and take off. To most people days off from their line of work would be a godsend. But Four loved his work in time travel and all of those adventures. He didn't feel the same without his TARDIS. Memories of what his future selves had become and done floated around his memory, but mostly his memories of this life were the freshest memories it seemed. He had reached a point with growing his TARDIS that he could not do anything else to help it along for at least a couple days. And he needed to find himself something else to do. Sarah Jane had a job, maybe a job would suit him too. Not a boring job, of course. Perhaps he could talk with the UNIT people about resuming his job. At least then his knowledge would help against alien invasions. Or even better... he could work in a jelly baby store.
Four pulled out the bag of jelly babies he always kept on him and ate one of them with a smile. Right now he had found himself in a park in London, not too far from where Sarah Jane lived. He was sitting on a park bench, not knowing what to do. After four-hundred and... no, it was more like nine-hundred and something now, he supposed, he rarely found himself with nothing to do, and it was peculiar. He usually was able to think of something to do, but not this time. Four felt a bit restless, crossing and uncrossing his legs as he sat, but ideas simply weren't springing to mind. Perhaps he could play with that dog not far ahead. Or K-9. He had sent Sarah a model, if he remembered correctly, but it had been shipped to a different house, and her aunt, he presumed had K-9 somewhere. Four noted to himself that he should ask Sarah about K-9 later. He did like that tin dog quite a bit.
